Item #783 - Western Copper Fireplace Cover or Wall Hanging

Description: A vintage copper bronze metal fireplace cover with detailed cowboy and Indian scene. 30 1/2 inches tall x 24 3/4 inches wide with a 3 inch depth. The screen is not capable of standing on its own, but rather it would have been secured to a fireplace by screws. While it is strong and firm enough to stand on its own it would need feet to be attached for this purpose. It has a 1/2 inch, bent, 90 degree lip around the outside perimeter for reinforcement. The screen would and does fit flush to a flat surface which makes it ideal for a wall hanging and would require nothing more than two nails or screws in the wall. The surface was stamped out in the manufacturing process giving the main design elements a raised and sculptured effect. This raised effect is called repousse' and lends this piece a very nice look and what gives this article the 3 inch depth. Excellent vintage condition.
