Item #718 - Silver Etched Horse Box

Description: This is a nice silver colored metal box with a piano hinge running the full length of the lid. It is excellent condition with only small polishing lines to the surface plus some tarnishing. The lid has a protruding convex, oval area with an engraved horse which is rearing and standing on 6 oval engraved ovals in an Art Deco style. The box measures 8 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide and is 1 5/8 inches deep. The total height is 1 7/8 inches standing on 4 bun feet. This box has the look. feel and weight of Sterling Silver. It is hallmarked on the bottom with a stamped, Incuse symbol of the front of a rearing horse, crown and a fancy S in old English script. As this hallmark has not been found, and not identified it is being sold as silver plate. It weighs approximately 10 ounces.
