Item #46 - Elaborate Horse Clock

Description: This is an all metal, silver and gold finish, keywind clock, with the exception of a porcelain medallion in the base. It has a barrel or round clock case, that is attached to the horse's back, and is blue enamel paint over the metal. The clock runs for eight days and strikes the hours on two bells and has a ting tang sound that counts the hours. The signature on the porcelain dial reads "Imperial", and was "Made in Italy", probably in the 1960s. The clock movement is a balance wheel type and does keep very good time. The porcelain medallion is not hand painted but a transfer. The clock is very heavy weighing in at 12 1/4 pounds. Excellent condition.
