Item #346 - Vlasaty Indian Prints

Description: This is an old, original folder, containing 11 full color printed pictures titled "FAMOUS INDIAN CHIEFS," painted by James L. Vlasaty, published by M.A. DONOHUE & CO. Book Publishers Since 1861, 711 South Dearborn Street * Chicago 5, Illinois. Most likely published in the late 50's. Our photographer has placed the names of each Chief in white lettering on the front of each picture for our viewers, but it does not exist on the actual prints. There is identification only on the back side stating each Chief's name, date of birth, death and tribe. Each print is signed by Vlasaty in the lower right hand corner. The folder has darkened with age and has minimal wear for age. The pictures still retain full vibrant color and have minimal discoloring with no other defects. Each picture measures 12 inches tall by 10 inches wide. These prints were specially produced, enlarged copies of the same pictures that were used in the book "Famous Indian Chiefs" by John W. Moyer. They are a little larger than what is in the book and on better grade paper, suitable for framing and high quality printing. They are in excellent condition.
