Item #288 - Antique Photograph Album

Description: This old black photograph album, dated from the early twentieth century, contains approximately 110 separate photographs spanning 25 pages. The album is in very good condition, with some wearing on the corners of the cover and the actual pages. The photographs contained within cover a wide variety of subjects, including studio-type still portraits, casual images of friends/family, as well as scenic landscape shots. Many of the images are captioned with information about the subject matter; these captions are handwritten in ink onto the photographs themselves. The landscape photographs include images of the Niagra Falls, the Montgomery Falls in Quebec, images of rustic buildings in New Mexico, as well as trains, and other railroad-related objects. Other fascinating subjects include early airplanes, horse-drawn carriages and wagons, old bicycles, and victorian-style architecture. Many outdoor photographs of people are in desert/western settings, places with sparse buildings and farm-like characteristics.
