Item #257 - Antique Pony Express Case

Description: Antique Pony Express case. This case is made of a metal that looks like brass and is heavily tarnished. It is unsigned by the maker and age is unknown. The measurements are 4 1/8 inches tall by 2 3/8 inches wide and is only 5/16 of an inch thick. The top of the case pulls off and is not hinged. The purpose for this case is unknown. It must have been used to carry something small, thin and important, perhaps a city map .Marked "Property Pony Express Messenger Service". Excellent condition.
