Description: Antique Ansonia clock. Attached to the top of this clock stands a solid bronze moose standing atop a rocky incline. The Moose is signed "S. Naksaeng." Minimal research has produced nothing on this sculptor. The casting is sharp and finely detailed. The Moose stands 12 inches tall. The overall height of clock and Moose is 22 inches tall by 15 inches long and is 6 inches deep. Approximate weight is 35 pounds. The black enamel case is in excellent condition with a mirror like finish and showing minimal wear for it's age, circa late 19th - early 20th Century. Six copper Corinthian columns and two copper rams heads embellish the main body of the case.
8-day keywind, outside escapement, striking once on the half-hour and appropriate number for each hour. Ansonia clock movement in a black enamel case. The movement keeps excellent time and has been cleaned and oiled. The porcelain dial has hairline cracks and has been repaired around the winding holes.
