Item #1595 - Sixth Governor Of Washington State Tintype

Description: Antique 1/9th plate tintype of Samuel Goodlove Cosgrove, 6th Governor of Washington State. This gutta percha cased tintype image was taken when Samuel was about to enter the Civil War. The thermoplastic case has warped and cracked, but still holds together well and is in the original state it was found in. The second piece is a copper printing plate, mounted on wood, and depicts Samuel while he was in Governor's Office. He was born April 10, 1847 and died in office March 28, 1909. These items were purchased from the Governor's Great, Great Granddaughter.
