Item #1301 - Antique Buffalo Clock
Description: This style of Buffalo was introduced and made popular during the 1901 Pan American Exhibition in Buffalo New York. Although not signed, as to case or clockmaker, date of manufacture or anything else, it was certainly around during that time and was a direct result of the Exhibition. The clock movement is a 30 hour keywind that runs but is erratic for a timekeeper, the inside of the movement is not signed but looks to be of German design and quality. The dial is porcelain with a gilt brass, floral design insert and it has a beveled, convex crystal. The clock case is made of Spelter with a gilt finish that has worn through to a copper plating where it has been handled and wound in all of its years of service. The deep recesses of the heavily sculptured Buffalo retain the original, warm yellow gold and gives good contrast for all the detail that is present. This clock is very heavy for it's small size and weighs 2 3/4 pounds.

Price: $575.00 SOLD
