Item #1161 - Antique Buffalo Clock
Description: This buffalo clock was produced by the Ansonia Clock Company sometime in the late nineteenth, early twentieth century. The movement is wound by key, which is included, and runs for 8 days. It strikes a gong once on the half hour and the appropriate number for each hour. It is loud and sounds nice. The movement has been recently cleaned and oiled. It keeps good time. The dial is made of a stamped and embossed brass and is very elaborate. It also looks like the dial was guilded with gold as it has a warm gold glow, unlike polished brass. The black paint on the numerals has mostly been removed through use although some numerals display more paint than others. The case of the clock is made of heavy cast iron and has a heavy enamel coating that has a mirror like finish. There is normal wear on the case such as minor scratches and chips. Nothing that stands out or scars the appearance, just a nice aged look. The buffalo heads on each side, two front feet and three ornamental attachments are a copper color and made of spelter. All retain their original copper finish.

Price: $1,200.00 SOLD
